AV HISTORISK GRUNN is a collaboration project between Kristin Ryg Helgebostad, Ingeleiv Berstad and Eivind Seljeseth. It is a project dealing with potential Norwegian dance history and choreographical concepts that could have been made. The three choreographers interviewed more than twenty norwegian choreographers and asked them to share an idea that they once had but for some reason never came to be. They put all of these unfinished and hidden ideas inside a mirror tent and let them co-exist in an independent choregraphical work. The tent is like an an archaeological site, a graveyard of lost ideas, but also an independent cultural building, an institution of its own.
It premiered at the Opera in Oslo and have since then been touring outside 15 of the newly built cultural houses in Norway: Lofoten Kulturhus (Lofoten) / Stormen (Bodø) / Ørland Kultursenter (Ørland) / Plassen (Molde) / Operahuset Nordfjord (Nordfjordeid) / Voss Kulturhus (Voss) / Stavanger Konserthus (Stavanger) / Bømlo Kulturhus (Bømlo) / Hamar kulturhus (Hamar) / Ælvespeilet (Porsgrunn) / Bølgen (Larvik) / Lyngdal kulturhus (Lyngdal) / Kilden (Kristiansand) / Bærum kulturhus (Bærum). Extended version at Dansens Hus (Oslo) in October 2016.
