CHEERS is a celebration and deformation of cheering as an unpredictable force. Kristin Helgebostad used to be a cheerleader in her teens, and with CHEERS she is sharing her roots with a group of wonderful artists. The performers conjure up energies that strengthen, weaken and transform a fragile, but loving collective. Their throws can be small and careful, their cheers can be whispered or hissed, as long as they instigate action. The ever-changing collective are transforming the chants, pyramids and energies known as cheerleading, while they investigate what cheering is and can be.
